Becoming an Athlete is one of the easiest career choices in The Sims 4. This is because the daily tasks and promotion requirements are relatively simple compared to many other careers in the game.

Like most careers in The Sims 4, the Athlete career consists of 10 levels and branches into two different career paths once your Sim reaches Level 4.

To succeed as an Athlete, you should focus on developing the Fitness and Charisma skills. These two skills are the primary requirements for earning promotions and advancing through the career ranks.

Once you reach the specialization stage, you can choose one of the available career branches.

In this guide, we’ll cover the Athlete career in detail, including work schedules, salaries, daily tasks, and promotion requirements for each career path.

Traits and Moods That Help Athletes

When creating a Young Adult Sim, players can choose up to three traits that influence the Sim’s personality, behavior, and career progression.

For the Athlete career, several traits are highly recommended because they support skill development and improve job performance.

    Professional Athlete Traits

    • Active: Helps Sims enjoy exercise more and makes it easier to improve the Fitness skill.
    • Good: Ideal for Sims pursuing a professional career with a positive personality.
    • Cheerful: Makes it easier for Sims to gain positive moods that support daily activities.
    • Slob: Allows Sims to be less bothered by messy surroundings, making training routines more flexible.

    Bodybuilder Traits

    • Self-Assured: Helps Sims gain the Confident mood more easily, which is extremely useful for improving the Charisma skill.
    • Outgoing: Makes social interactions and relationship building easier.
    • Bro: Provides benefits when working out with other Sims and supports an active lifestyle.
    • Cheerful: Helps maintain a positive mood throughout the day.

In addition to traits, moods also play an important role in career progression. The Energized mood is highly recommended because it helps Sims improve their Fitness skill more quickly and perform better while exercising and working.

Meanwhile, the Confident mood can help Sims improve their Charisma skill faster, which is also a key requirement for promotion in this career.

Every Level in the Athlete Career: Salary, Work Hours, Promotion Requirements, Daily Tasks, and Rewards

In the table below, you can find a complete breakdown of every promotion level in The Sims 4 Athlete career.

The information includes work schedules, daily and hourly pay, daily tasks, promotion requirements, and the rewards earned when advancing to the next career level.

By understanding the requirements at each level, you can plan your Sim’s skill development and daily activities more efficiently.

    Athlete

The Athlete branch serves as the starting stage of the career before you can choose a specialization. The daily task is Work Out, which can be completed by exercising with fitness equipment at home or by training at a gym.

To earn promotions, simply focus on improving your Fitness and Charisma skills, as these are the primary requirements for career advancement.

To increase job performance more quickly, try to send your Sim to work while Energized.

The easiest way to gain this mood is by taking a Brisk Shower approximately 20 minutes before work begins.

The Energized mood also helps Sims improve their Fitness skill faster, making promotions easier to achieve.

    Bodybuilder

After reaching Level 4 in the Athlete career, you can choose the Bodybuilder specialization.

In this branch, the daily task is Mentor Fitness. To complete it, follow these steps:

    1. Visit a gym or any location with fitness equipment.
    2. Click on a piece of fitness equipment.
    3. Select Mentoring.
    4. Choose Offer Fitness Mentoring to mentor for free, or Offer Paid Fitness Mentoring if you want to earn money.
    5. Select a Sim to begin the mentoring session.

To meet promotion requirements, focus on improving your Fitness and Charisma skills. Each career level has different skill targets, so be sure to check the promotion requirements table for specific details.

The ideal mood for the Bodybuilder branch is Confident. You can gain this mood by:

    1. Clicking on a sink.
    2. Selecting Brush Teeth.
    3. Doing so about 20 minutes before work starts.

In addition to improving work performance, the Confident mood helps Sims increase their Charisma skill more quickly, making promotions easier to obtain.

    Professional Athlete

The daily task for the Professional Athlete branch is quite simple because all you need is a computer, which can be purchased through Build Mode.

Once your Sim has access to a computer, complete the daily task by following these steps:

    1. Click on the computer.
    2. Select Web.
    3. Choose Study Opponents.

As for promotion requirements, the focus remains the same as in the previous branch: improving Fitness and Charisma. Make sure both skills continue to increase so your Sim can earn promotions more quickly.

To maximize job performance, try to send your Sim to work while Energized. You can gain this mood by:

    1. Clicking on a shower.
    2. Selecting Brisk Shower.
    3. Doing so approximately 20 minutes before work begins.

With the Energized mood active, your Sim’s work performance will improve, helping them advance through the career ranks more efficiently.

    Conclusion

The Athlete career is one of the easiest careers to pursue in The Sims 4. This is largely because the daily tasks and promotion requirements involve activities Sims frequently perform anyway, such as exercising, improving fitness, and interacting with other Sims.

Before choosing a specialization, you must first progress through the first four career levels. After that, you can decide between the Bodybuilder and Professional Athlete career paths.

The best choice ultimately depends on your playstyle. If you prefer a more flexible schedule and want additional time for hobbies, socializing, or spending time with family, then Bodybuilder may be the better option.

On the other hand, if your primary goal is to earn a higher income and maximize your Simoleon earnings, Professional Athlete is generally the more profitable choice.

Whichever path you choose, both branches offer engaging gameplay experiences and provide one of the easiest ways to build a successful career in The Sims 4.
