Overview

sims 4 business career overview

The Business career is one of the highest-paying career options available in the base game of The Sims 4.

Sims start their careers in a low-level mailroom position and can gradually develop their skills and advance through the career until reaching an executive position.

After reaching Level 6, you will be asked to choose one of the following specializations.

Investor
The Investor branch focuses on investments and the stock market. This path relies on analytical skills and financial decision-making to generate, manage, and grow a Sim’s wealth.
Management
The Management branch focuses on leadership and company management. Success in this path depends more on communication skills, social abilities, and effective leadership.

To progress in the Business career, Sims need to develop Charisma and Logic. Both skills are required throughout the career, although each branch has a different primary focus:

  • Investor focuses more on the Logic skill.
  • Management focuses more on the Charisma skill.

The secondary skill still needs to be developed to Level 8, so both skills should be improved throughout the career.

Traits and Moods That Help in the Business Career

Traits and Moods That Help in the Business Career

The Business career relies heavily on logical thinking and social interaction. Therefore, Traits that support Logic and Charisma can help Sims meet promotion requirements more easily.

Recommended Traits include:

  • Outgoing: Makes it easier for Sims to socialize and helps them improve Charisma more quickly.
  • Genius: Helps Sims learn and improve Logic more quickly.

The Genius Trait can be supported through activities such as playing chess, using an observatory, or performing activities related to analysis. Meanwhile, Outgoing supports Charisma development through conversations, practicing speeches in front of a mirror, and other social interactions.

The appropriate mood can also help improve both skills:

  • Focused: Ideal for improving Logic.
  • Confident: Helps Sims improve Charisma more quickly.

It is recommended to use these moods when developing skills or before going to work to maximize your Sim’s progress.

Conclusion

The Business career offers a choice between Investor and Management, each with a different gameplay focus.

Management is more profitable and can generate around §15,000 per week with a relatively simple daily task, Make Business Calls. This path also offers various rewards, including office furniture, professional decorations, and items that reflect a high status in the corporate world.

Meanwhile, Investor offers slightly lower earnings but has a lighter work schedule. The Research Stock task also provides a gameplay experience more focused on investments and the stock market, with finance- and technology-themed rewards and several special interactions related to investment activities.

If your main goal is to maximize income with a simple daily task, Management is an excellent choice. However, if you are more interested in investment mechanics and a different gameplay experience, Investor may be more appealing.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on your preferred playstyle, whether you want to pursue wealth, enjoy investment mechanics, or build an interesting career story for your Sim.
