The Style Influencer career in The Sims 4 is an excellent choice for Sims who are interested in fashion and trends.
One of the main features of this career is the ability to influence how other Sims dress, from giving makeovers to creating entirely new fashion trends.
Through this career, you can help NPCs improve their appearance, build a reputation in the fashion industry, and influence trends throughout their neighborhoods.
This guide covers the various aspects of the Style Influencer career, including the skills required for promotions, available career branches, salary, work schedule, daily tasks, and rewards at each level.
Overview

For Sims who enjoy spending time in Create-a-Sim (CAS), the Style Influencer career can be an interesting choice. It allows Sims to give makeovers to other Sims while creating fashion trends that can influence the world around them.
As with most careers in The Sims 4, Sims cannot choose a specialization immediately. The career branches become available after reaching Level 5, giving you time to prepare the required skills.
The Style Influencer career has two specialization branches:
- Trend Setter — Focuses on fashion, styling, and creating new trends.
- Stylist — Focuses on creativity, social media, and influencing other Sims’ lifestyles.
Four main skills contribute to career progression:
- Charisma
- Painting
- Photography
- Writing
Not all of these skills need to be maximized, but most promotions require Sims to develop more than one skill. Developing the relevant skills early will make career progression much easier.
Since each specialization has different promotion requirements, it is recommended to decide which branch you want to pursue early so you can focus on the most relevant skills.
Traits and Moods That Support the Style Influencer Career

Choosing the right Traits and Mood can help Sims develop important skills more efficiently and improve their work performance.
The following Traits are well suited for Sims pursuing a career as a Style Influencer:
- Creative — Very useful for obtaining the Inspired mood, which plays an important role in creative activities and helps Sims obtain Style Impression.
- Outgoing or Self-Assured — Both Traits make social interactions easier and help increase the Charisma skill more quickly.
- Art Lover — Provides positive moodlets when viewing or interacting with artwork, helping Sims maintain a positive emotional state.
Working in the right emotional state can help improve skill development and work performance.
- Inspired — The best mood for improving Writing, Photography, and Painting. It also provides a Style Impression buff required to add impressions to the Style Board.
- Confident — Very effective for improving Charisma, which is often used for tasks such as Interview Sim and Discuss Outfit.
Keeping Sims in the appropriate mood before working or training skills can make career progression more efficient.
Style Influencer Career Levels: Salary, Work Schedule, Promotion Requirements, Daily Tasks, and Rewards
The table below provides details for each level of the Style Influencer career, including salary, work schedule, daily tasks, promotion requirements, and rewards.

The Style Influencer career requires investment in several skills, so it is recommended to start developing the necessary skills early.

Creating New Trends

The Create Trend feature becomes available after a Sim reaches Level 7 in the Trend Setter branch or Level 10 in the Stylist branch.
To create a new trend:
- Click the active Sim.
- Select Create Feminine Trend or Create Masculine Trend.
- Use the plus (+) button in the upper-right corner to create a new trend.

Once an outfit becomes a trend, other Sims throughout the world can begin appearing in public wearing the style you created.
This feature allows you to directly influence NPC fashion and update the appearance of Sims whose outfits are less appealing.
Both masculine and feminine categories can have up to five active trends at the same time. Existing trends can also be deleted when they are no longer needed.
Use the numbered tabs in the trend creation interface to switch between and manage active trends.
Conclusion
The Style Influencer career is a good choice for Sims interested in fashion, trends, and social media. After reaching Level 5, you can choose between Trend Setter and Stylist, with each branch offering a different gameplay experience.
Trend Setter focuses on creating fashion trends, gathering impressions, and creative activities, while Stylist places greater emphasis on social media, makeovers, and influencing the appearance of other Sims.
The Create Trend feature is one of the career’s main attractions, allowing you to create fashion trends that can subsequently be followed by NPCs throughout the game world.
Overall, Trend Setter is better suited to Sims who want to become fashion icons and trendsetters, while Stylist is ideal for Sims who prefer makeovers, social media, and influencing other people’s lifestyles.
