The types of gems that can be found inside the rocks of the Lake Mine differ in the Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town remake.
The new gems added in this version are Aquamarine, Garnet, Jade, Sapphire, and Turquoise.
Alexandrite changes color depending on its location: red when indoors and green when outdoors.
This gem can only be found on Floors 50, 100, 150, and 200. However, because its appearance rate is extremely low, you may find only one or none at all.
Fortunately, the Lift in the Lake Mine stops at the floors where Alexandrite can be found. Floor 100 is the easiest location to search for this gem because it does not contain traps that can interfere with your search.
Pitfalls
The Lake Mine has fewer floors with traps than the Spring Mine. However, the chance of encountering hidden traps increases as you descend deeper into the mine.
Traps can appear on the following floors:
- Floors 10–68, except floors ending in 9 (19, 29, 39, and so on)
- Floors 80–90
- Floors 130–140
- Floors 150–160
- Floors 170–180
- Floor 200
- Floors 240–248
In many parts of the Lake Mine, you must descend one floor at a time to continue exploring. Therefore, it is recommended to bring plenty of food or stamina-restoring items before entering the mine.

Special Items
Below is a summary of the special locations and items available in the Lake Mine.
On Floor 9, there is a room containing an underground lake. This lake is the only place where you can catch Coelacanth, one of the 7 Guardian Fish in the game.
To fish for this fish and add it to your catch list, you must have caught at least 5 Guardian Fish.
You must also use a Cursed, Blessed, or Mythic Fishing Rod and charge it to Level 6 or Level 7 before casting your line.
One Power Berry can be found by digging the ground on Floor 19. It is recommended to bring plenty of stamina-restoring food as well as Stamina Boosters, which can be purchased at the Clinic.
A decorative statue is hidden in the ground of the Lake Mine: the Kappa Statue. It can be found on Floors 101–120.
Once obtained, the statue can be placed on the trophy shelf, but it has no effect and cannot be sold.
Nine Kappa Jewels are hidden inside rocks on the following floors:
- Entrance Floor (0)
- Floor 40
- Floor 60
- Floor 80
- Floor 120
- Floor 140
- Floor 160
- Floor 180
- Floor 255
Collect all Kappa Jewels to obtain the Kappa Treasure, which restores your character’s fatigue (FAT).
Before Cursed Tools begin appearing, all tools (Hoe, Hammer, Watering Can, Sickle, Fishing Rod, and Axe) must first be upgraded to Mithril Level.
Once this requirement has been met, Cursed Tools can be found by digging the ground on the following floors:
| Floor | Cursed Tool |
|---|---|
| 29 | Cursed Fishing Rod |
| 39 | Cursed Hoe |
| 49 | Cursed Axe |
| 59 | Cursed Hammer |
| 69 | Cursed Watering Can |
| 79 | Cursed Sickle |
No traps appear on the floors where Cursed Tools are located.
When hunting for a Cursed Tool, the best way to deal with its random appearance chance is to save the game on the floor before the tool’s location, then descend one floor using the stairs.
If the Cursed Tool does not appear, reload the previous save data and repeat the process until you find the desired tool.
Make sure you have one empty backpack slot before picking up a Cursed Tool.
