Table of Contents
Kai is one of the characters in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. He comes to the village during Summer to run the Seaside Lodge.
Kai is a ladies’ man who often looks down on the male villagers. He means well but feels misunderstood by others because of his cheerful personality.
Kai meets Popuri during Summer, which leads to arguments between him and Rick.
Kai and Popuri may eventually get married. If they do, Popuri will leave the village with Kai, but they will return every Summer.

Kai is talking to Popuri and telling her how nice she is. Rick becomes defensive and tells Kai to leave her alone.
Popuri then comes outside, scolds Rick, and invites Kai inside. Kai refuses because Rick does not want him there and tells Popuri that she should listen to her brother.
Popuri says that she hates Rick and invites Kai inside again, but Kai still refuses. He says that he only stopped by to say hello before leaving.
Popuri asks Kai why he does not stay in the village all year. Kai replies that he likes warm places and hates cold ones.
Popuri says that she likes Summer because that is when Kai’s restaurant is open. Kai thanks her and tells her that he will see her next Summer.
Kai asks if Popuri intends to stay in the village forever. Popuri says that she does not and plans to leave someday.
Kai then asks Popuri if she is really serious about leaving. Popuri gets angry and says that she is serious, but worries about her mother and Rick.
Kai doubts how serious Popuri is and tells her that she can leave whenever she wants, without needing a reason.
Kai apologizes to Popuri for their previous conversation, and Popuri accepts his apology.
Although Kai thinks that Popuri may be serious about leaving, he tells her that she should stay with her family.
Kai says that Popuri seems happy here, so perhaps she does not really want to leave.
Popuri then says that she wants to leave the village because she wants to be with Kai. Kai leaves without Popuri every Summer, which makes her sad.
On Fall 1, when Kai comes to your farm to tell you that he will be leaving until next year, he will also tell you that he plans to take Popuri with him.
After Kai leaves, Rick will appear and ask if you have seen Popuri. Your choice will determine whether Kai and Popuri get married.
If you tell Rick where Popuri went, Popuri will stay.
If you choose not to tell him, Kai and Popuri will get married. The wedding will take place on Spring 30 of the following year.
