You see Duke and Karen at the Inn. Karen explains that Duke has spent a lot of money at the General Store, so the two of them are going to have a drinking contest.
If Karen wins, Duke must pay off his debt. However, if Duke wins, his debt will be considered paid off, and he will not have to pay anything. Karen then asks you to be a witness to their drinking contest.
- Negative Answer: “This is stupid…” (-2000 LP with Karen)
Karen insists that she is serious about the contest.
- Positive Answer: “Sure thing.” (+3000 LP with Karen)
The two are now ready to start the drinking contest.
Duke eventually passes out on the floor while Karen laughs at him. There is no way Duke could beat her, even in a hundred years.
Before Karen staggers home, she tells Duke that she hopes he has paid off his tab by the end of the day.
Dudley then asks you to take Duke home because he cannot leave the Inn. If he could, Dudley would take him home himself.
You take Duke home. There, he wakes up to Manna yelling at him. When Duke groans because of his stomachache, Manna says that she has already heard everything from you.
Duke confirms that he tried to win the drinking contest and then asks how it went.
Manna tells him that Duke lost. Duke does not mind, as he considers Karen a formidable opponent.
However, this is not the response Manna was expecting because they still have to pay off his debt. Manna then asks what Duke actually bought secretly from the General Store.
Duke says that it was nothing and that he has to keep his promise to Karen. Manna then says that she will pay off the debt with her own money.
Manna tells Duke to apologize to you. She then apologizes herself for her husband’s foolish behavior.
Duke then gets angry at Manna for using such language, and the two of them start arguing.
