In general, giving gifts to villagers will improve your relationships. On a character’s birthday, gifts can provide increased Love Points (LP) for marriage candidates and Friendship Points (FP) for all villagers.
Gifts given on a birthday are worth 5 times more points than on a normal day. Take advantage of this opportunity to increase your FP/LP by giving characters gifts they like.
You can also have gifts wrapped at the General Store for 100 G per item. Wrapped gifts receive an additional 25% FP/LP bonus.
Ideally, give characters gifts they like on their birthdays. However, gifts they dislike will still provide 5× the normal relationship points.
If you are unsure whether a character likes a particular gift, save the game before giving it. If the gift has a negative effect on FP/LP, you can load your save to restore the previous relationship level.
Keep in mind that only marriage candidates have a Favorite gift level. Marriage candidates also have alternate birthdays to prevent their birthdays from falling on the same date as the player’s birthday.
Note: We only list some of the gifts each character likes. For the complete list, see the Villagers guide and the “Gifts” table section.
