If we look back at Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town, you could collect seven achievement rings that counted toward Heroine Points.
The same system is also present in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (SoS: FoMT), but each ring obtained grants 30 Farm Degree Points.
When you obtain a ring, the game displays a notification on the screen, but the ring does not appear as an item in your inventory.
Instead, obtained rings are recorded on the Farm Profile page in the game’s main menu.
There are several ways to collect all the rings in SoS: FoMT, including making purchases at shops, participating in romantic festivals, receiving birthday gifts, and getting married.
Ring 1 – Shopping Master
The Shopping Master ring is obtained after making 35 purchases at shops in Mineral Town. Once this requirement is met, the ring will be delivered to your mailbox.
The ring is awarded based on an internal shop counter that tracks the number of transactions made at shops.
The counter increases by 1 each time you open a shop, complete a purchase, and then close the shop menu. The target is 35 transactions.
Unlike regular letters, the ring’s appearance in your mailbox is not accompanied by a notification. The new-mail indicator above the mailbox will also not appear, so you need to manually check the mailbox to see whether the ring has been received.
If the transaction counter exceeds 35 before you collect the ring from the mailbox, the ring will temporarily disappear. It will reappear when the counter reaches the corresponding multiple again.
One of the easiest ways to obtain this ring is by purchasing Chicken/Rabbit Fodder at PoPoultry. By contrast, the 0 G Water sold at the Inn does not count as a transaction.
Follow these steps:
- Go to PoPoultry.
- Open the shop menu and buy 1 bag of Chicken/Rabbit Fodder.
- Exit the shop menu, return home, and check your mailbox.
- If the ring has not appeared, repeat the process by purchasing another bag of fodder, then check the mailbox again.
- Continue until the required number of transactions has been reached and the ring appears in the mailbox.
Because you cannot see the internal counter value, purchases must be made one at a time until the required number of transactions is reached.
Alternatively, you can save the game before making your first purchase at PoPoultry.
If the ring does not appear after one transaction, load the save again, then make two transactions, closing the shop menu between each purchase. Repeat this process until the ring appears.
If you do not mind making more than the minimum number of purchases, you can also save the game after each transaction to preserve the counter progress.
Another method discovered by players makes use of Van’s Favorite. Taking Van’s Favorite from the mailbox resets the transaction counter to 0.
After that, make 35 Chicken/Rabbit Fodder purchases at PoPoultry, closing the shop menu after each purchase. After the 35th transaction, Shopping Master will appear in the mailbox.
Additional Information
Unlike the method for obtaining Van’s Favorite, you do not need to sleep to trigger the appearance of this ring because no letter delivery process occurs when the day changes.
In addition, using the Master Shopper Award through the mirror inside your house will not unlock the ring. All transactions must be made at shops in Mineral Town.
Some players have also reported that obtaining this ring early in the game sometimes requires additional conditions that are currently unknown.
It is suspected that certain conditions must be met before the transaction counter begins increasing, although this has not been confirmed.
Ring 2 – Participating in Romantic Festivals
This ring can be obtained during Valentine’s Day or White Day.
During both festivals, a marriage candidate with a Purple Heart (10,000 LP or higher) will visit your house to give you a gift.
On Valentine’s Day, you will receive Chocolate, while on White Day, the gift will be Cookies.
The ring will be given by the first marriage candidate to visit your house if they have a Yellow Heart (40,000 LP or higher).
For Kai, the ring will be delivered by letter if he meets the same Love Point (LP) requirement.
If you are already married before either festival takes place, you can also obtain this ring from your spouse.
Ring 3 – Starlight Night Gift
If you are unmarried, spend Starlight Night on 24 Winter with Brandon, Cliff, Doctor, Gray, or Jennifer to obtain this ring.
These five characters are the marriage candidates who will celebrate Starlight Night at your house.
The other marriage candidates will not give you a ring before marriage. Rick also does not give you a ring because his Starlight Night celebration takes place at PoPoultry with Lillia and Popuri.
Some gamers have also reported obtaining the ring after getting married. During Starlight Night, their spouse, Karen, gave them the ring after their child had grown up and joined the celebration.
Ring 4 – Marriage
This ring is obtained after holding a wedding with one of the eligible marriage candidates.
To obtain it, fulfill all marriage requirements, including raising the relationship to a Red Heart, completing all heart events, upgrading the house, purchasing the Big Bed, and obtaining the Blue Feather.
Use the Blue Feather to propose. If the proposal is accepted, the wedding ceremony will take place seven days later. After the ceremony is completed, you will automatically receive the ring.
Ring 5 – Birthday Gift
On the first birthday after getting married, your spouse will give you this ring.
Enter your house after 6:00 PM to celebrate your birthday with your spouse, and you will receive the ring.
It is recommended that you avoid choosing a birthday that coincides with a post-marriage dinner event, such as the Pumpkin Jamboree or Starlight Night Festival, as these events will take place instead of the birthday celebration.
Ring 6 – 10th Anniversary Gift
The 10th Anniversary ring is obtained after celebrating your 10th wedding anniversary.
On your 10th wedding anniversary, your spouse will hold a celebration at home, and the ring will automatically be added to your ring collection after the event ends.
Ring 7 – Pedometer
Carry the Pedometer in your backpack to track your steps. This ring is obtained after reaching 10,000,000 (10 million) steps.
The easiest way to meet this requirement is to move your character indoors, causing the in-game time to stop.
Then, use a rubber band or tape on the controller’s left analog stick to make your character continuously walk toward a wall, and leave the game running.
If you are playing on a console, make sure Auto Sleep is disabled so the game does not stop automatically.
