Like other Story of Seasons games, Friends of Mineral Town (SoS: FoMT) features a character health system consisting of Stamina (STA) and Fatigue (FAT).
Your character’s health determines how long you can perform various activities, such as working on the farm or exploring the mines. The better your condition, the longer you can perform activities before becoming exhausted.
The health system in SoS: FoMT consists of two components:
- Stamina (STA): Represented by the Power Berry icon with a number above it.
- Fatigue (FAT): Represented by a facial expression icon next to the Power Berry icon.
Each Power Berry represents 15 STA points. At the beginning of the game, you have 10 Power Berries, equivalent to 150 STA points. Whenever you perform an activity that consumes energy, your STA will decrease until it reaches zero.
Fatigue, meanwhile, starts at 0 and gradually increases as you perform activities, up to a maximum of 100.
Fatigue will not increase as long as you still have Stamina. For example, if you currently have 150 STA points and perform various activities until your Stamina is depleted, Fatigue will then begin to take effect.
Once STA reaches zero, FAT will continue to increase each time you perform an activity. If FAT reaches 100 points, you will pass out. After passing out, you will be treated at the Clinic and can resume your activities the following day.
Stamina

Each time you use tools, your STA will decrease according to the type and level of the tool used.
Most tools only consume a small amount of Stamina, while Cursed Tools consume significantly more STA with each use.
Tools can be upgraded at the Forge to make them more efficient. However, the higher the tool level, the more STA it consumes when used.
| Level 1 Old | Level 2 Copper | Level 3 Silver | Level 4 Gold | Level 5 Mithril | Level 6 Cur/Ble | Level 7 Mythic |

In addition to using tools, exploring the Spring Mine and Lake Mine also reduces Stamina. The amount reduced depends on the number of floors skipped when descending through a Pitfall:
- Falling 1 floor
- -20 STA
- Falling 2 floors
- -30 STA
- Falling 3 floors
- -40 STA
- Falling 4 floors
- -60 STA
- Falling 5 floors
- -70 STA
Fatigue

Fatigue (FAT) is represented by a facial expression icon that indicates your character’s level of exhaustion.
| Icon | FAT |
|---|---|
![]() | 0 |
![]() | 1-49 |
![]() | 50-79 |
![]() | 80-100 |
It is recommended to keep Fatigue below 100 points, as your character will pass out when it reaches that limit.
Once your Stamina is depleted, each use of a tool will increase your FAT. In addition, several other conditions can also increase Fatigue.
| Action | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Using a tool while it is raining or snowing | +1 FAT per use |
| Using a tool between 10:00 PM and 11:59 PM | +1 FAT per use |
| Using a tool between 12:00 AM and 5:59 AM | +2 FAT per use |
| Staying awake until 12:00 AM | +3 FAT |
| Staying awake until 2:00 AM | +4 FAT |
| Staying awake until 4:00 AM | +4 FAT |
| Staying awake until 6:00 AM | +10 FAT |
| Using a tool when Stamina is 0 | +2 FAT per use |
| Using a Cursed Tool | +10 FAT per use |
If you leave your house in the morning and immediately see the exhaustion animation even though you have not performed any activities, this indicates that the Fatigue penalty from staying up late has been applied.
Tips Recovering STA & FAT

Stamina (STA) and Fatigue (FAT) can be restored through various methods.
Some available methods include sleeping, eating food, soaking in the Hot Spring, eating at the Inn, and using Goddess Orbs or Kappa Orbs.
| Action | Restore |
|---|---|
| Sleeping | STA: 50 + (7 × hours slept) FAT: 5 + (2 × hours slept) |
| Consuming edible items | Varies depending on the item |
| Soaking in the Hot Spring | Restores 1 STA and reduces 1 FAT per minute |
| Eating at the Inn | Varies depending on the type of food |
| Using the Goddess Orb | Restores 1 STA per minute |
| Using the Kappa Orb | Reduces 1 FAT per minute |
Kai’s Beach Cafe and the Inn sell various ready-to-eat dishes that can restore STA and FAT.
Purchased food is consumed immediately and cannot be stored. You can purchase more than one dish during a single visit, but each purchase must be made individually.
Each food item has a different recovery effect. The recovery values can be viewed through the main menu by pressing X on consoles or P on PC, then selecting Rucksack and highlighting the desired food item.
The STA and FAT values are displayed in the upper-left corner. For example, Grape restores 10+ STA and 0 FAT.
Note that Red Grass is the only edible item that provides no health benefits. Consuming it instead increases your FAT.
Sleeping is one of the main ways to restore STA and FAT. The amount restored depends on the time you go to sleep. The earlier you sleep, the more you recover.
Recovery is calculated using the following formulas:
- Stamina: 50 + (7 × number of hours slept)
- Fatigue: 5 + (2 × number of hours slept)
You always wake up at 6:00 AM, regardless of what time you went to sleep.
Every morning, you will also automatically eat breakfast. At the beginning of the game, breakfast is usually Onigiri or Bread. This food cannot be stored in your inventory.
For example, if you go to sleep at 11:00 PM and receive Bread as breakfast (+2 STA, 0 FAT), the total recovery is:
- Stamina: 50 + (7 × 7) + 2 = 101 STA
- Fatigue: 5 + (7 × 2) + 0 = 19 FAT
After obtaining a kitchen, breakfast options will be randomly selected from foods you have previously cooked.
You can restore your health by soaking in the Hot Spring located south of the farm, near the Goddess Pond.
Every minute of in-game time spent soaking will restore +1 STA and reduce 1 FAT. Although it takes quite a long time, this is the most effective way to restore your health for free.
Goddess Orbs and Kappa Orbs can be found while mining. There are nine orbs of each type.
Goddess Orbs can be found in the Spring Mine on floors 60, 102, 123, 152, 155, 171, 190, 202, and 222.
Kappa Orbs can be found in the Lake Mine on floors 0, 40, 60, 80, 120, 140, 160, 180, and 255.
Orbs are found randomly inside rocks on these floors. Once you have collected all orbs of the same type, you will obtain the corresponding Goddess Orb or Kappa Orb.
On 3 Spring of the first year, you will meet Huang, a merchant who opens his shop at Zack’s House.
If you have more than 5,000 G, Huang will visit your house on 11 Spring to offer you a Flower Vase. If purchased, the vase will automatically be placed inside your house next to the calendar.
Filling the vase with flowers will provide health recovery every morning. The amount restored depends on the type of flower used.
Flowers can also randomly wilt and disappear before reaching their maximum blooming period.
- Moondrop Flower: +10 STA (maximum bloom period of 7 days)
- Toy Flower: -7 FAT (maximum bloom period of 5 days)
- Pinkcat Flower: -5 FAT (maximum bloom period of 5 days)
- Blue Magic Flower: +3 STA (maximum bloom period of 10 days)
- Red Magic Flower: -10 FAT (maximum bloom period of 5 days)
- Sunsweet Flower: -20 FAT (maximum bloom period of 2 days)
You can change the flower in the vase at any time.
If you decline Huang’s Flower Vase offer on 11 Spring, he will offer it again on the same date up to four more times.
After the fifth offer, Huang will no longer sell the vase, meaning you will not be able to obtain it for the rest of the game.
