Once again, in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you can have other livestock besides Cows and Sheep, namely Goats.
These animals can produce animal products that can be sold for additional income.
Although they are quite expensive, Goats are still worth having as a long-term investment.
Goats can only produce milk for one year, but during that time, you can recover the purchase cost because the milk they produce has a fairly high selling value.
In this guide, we will discuss Goats, from how to obtain them to how to take care of them.
How to Buy a Goat

Female Goats are only available when you purchase them from Van. He only sells Female Goats from Spring 3–8 each year.
They cost 40,000 G, but you can try haggling to get a lower price. Van sometimes offers a discount, and you can get a Goat for less than 40,000 G.
When purchased, you, Van, and the Goat will automatically be taken to the Farm for a scene where you give the new animal a name.
Keep in mind that Van only sells Goats during Spring. So, if you miss the opportunity the first time, you will have to wait a full year for another chance to raise a Goat.
Additionally, Van will not sell a Female Goat if you do not have an empty space in the Barn.
Products
Like some other livestock, Goats can produce milk. The product they produce is Goat Milk.
Using the Milker normally used to milk cows, you can milk a Goat once a day to obtain several bottles of Goat Milk.
Their care is also the same as other livestock. Goats like being brushed and hugged, so take the time to care for them to improve the quality of the Goat Milk they produce.
When purchased, Female Goats are already adults. Therefore, you can immediately milk them for one year after the Goat arrives at the Farm.
Solution for Goats That Stop Producing Milk
As we know, Goats will stop producing milk after one year. There is no way to make them produce milk again.
The only way is to remove the Goat from the Farm and replace it with another animal so that the Farm’s income can continue.
In the Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life version, you had to let unwanted animals die in order to remove them from the Barn. However, this no longer applies in the remake version.
In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, you can sell a Goat after it stops producing Goat Milk.
To do so, open the Ledger and select the “Sell Animal” option. Select the Goat you want to sell from the list, and Takakura will take it away the following morning to be sold.
If you want to raise a Goat again and have an empty slot in the Barn, you can purchase a new animal from Van’s shop on Spring 3 or 8.
