Spring Derby Fest (SoSFoMT)

On 17 Spring, Thomas will come to your house in the morning. He will invite you to the Horse Race, which will be held the following day at Rose Plaza.

If you have an adult horse, Thomas will ask whether you want to participate in the race. If you agree, he will temporarily take your horse so it can participate in the race the next day.

The Spring Derby takes place from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Go to Rose Plaza to greet the villagers and gain +5 FP with each villager you talk to.

Three races will take place during the festival. Talk to Thomas to start a race, purchase betting tickets, or exchange tickets for rewards.

Betting System

If you want to bet on one of the horses, you will be given a list of four horses participating in the race.

The lower the odds displayed for a horse, the more likely it is to win. For example:

• Horse #1 has 5x odds.
• Horse #2 has 26x odds.

In this situation, Horse #1 has a higher chance of winning than Horse #2.

However, the race results are not guaranteed, so you will still need to use the save-and-load trick for this festival.

If the horse you bet on finishes in first place, you will receive medals based on the number of tickets you purchased multiplied by the horse’s odds.

For example:

• Buy 10 tickets for a horse with 5x odds.
• If that horse wins, you will receive 50 medals.

Each ticket costs 100 G. You can buy as many tickets as you want and bet on multiple horses at the same time.

Once you finish betting, the race will begin. Depending on the results, you will either receive medals or receive none at all.

Your Horse’s Race

If you have an adult horse, your horse will participate in the third race. You can even buy tickets and bet on your own horse if you are confident that it will win.

During the race, a colored stamina bubble will appear above your horse’s head.

Repeatedly press Click (PC) to make your horse run faster. When the horse begins to tire, the stamina indicator will change from green to yellow and then red.

Stop pressing Click when the horse becomes tired and let it rest until its stamina recovers slightly. Then start pressing Click again.

You must time your clicks carefully to maintain your horse’s speed and beat the other three competitors.

Winning the race with your own horse will give you an additional +20 FP with the villagers in the plaza.

In addition, you will receive a Power Berry as the main reward the first time you win the Spring Derby.

Medal Exchange Rewards

After the third race ends, you can exchange the medals you have earned for various rewards. Unused medals will be saved and can be used at the next Spring Derby festival.

The following rewards can be exchanged for medals:

Truth Jewel and Power Berry can only be exchanged once. All other items can be exchanged multiple times and shipped through the Shipping Bin for a small profit.

You can exchange as many tickets as you have, as long as there are enough empty slots in your backpack. The most profitable item to exchange is the Brooch, which costs 18 tickets and can be shipped for 1,800 G.

Dress and Perfume will only appear as medal rewards after you have exchanged the Truth Jewel and Power Berry.

When you are finished, leave Rose Plaza to be escorted home with your horse at 6:00 PM.
