Van is one of the characters who can be encountered in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (SoS: FoMT).
He is a traveling merchant who sells various rare items, special items, and different pets that cannot be purchased anywhere else.
Van will start visiting Mineral Town after you make offerings to the Harvest Goddess. Once this requirement is fulfilled, he will introduce himself on the first sunny Wednesday when you leave your house.
As a traveling merchant, Van does not play a major role in Mineral Town’s social life. He does not participate in festivals or random events involving other villagers.
Most of your interactions with him revolve around Van’s Shop, where he sells various unique items that are difficult to find elsewhere.
In addition to opening his regular shop at the Inn, Van also runs Van’s Pet Shop, which appears on the 15th of every month in Rose Plaza.
There, you can purchase various types of pets that will accompany you throughout your life in Mineral Town.
