Baddoch discovers Mukumuku in the forest. Startled, the furry creature immediately tries to run away. However, Baddoch understands that his appearance can be quite frightening.
As Baddoch begins telling a story, Mukumuku becomes curious. The creature returns to listen to what he has to say.
Baddoch explains that long ago, there was a young girl who suffered from a highly contagious illness. Every doctor who tried to treat her became infected with the disease.
As a result, the girl kept moving from one doctor to another because no one was able to cure her.
Eventually, the girl came to Baddoch. Although her condition had already become very serious, Baddoch was reminded of his own daughter.
He believed that the girl was still far too young to die. In the end, he successfully cured her illness, but lost his left eye after becoming infected himself.
The story deeply moves Mukumuku. However, Baddoch tells the creature not to pity him. To him, his left eye is a symbol of honor.
Baddoch then says that perhaps Mukumuku also needs medical treatment. He even claims to have the perfect injection for the job.
Hearing that, Mukumuku immediately tries to run away. Baddoch briefly stops the creature and asks Mukumuku to take off the costume it is wearing. However, Mukumuku escapes anyway.
