- Cliff was not offered the grape harvest job at Adge Winery during the Autumn Winery Harvest event
Cliff is at the boat dock talking to Dudley. He confirms that he is leaving because he feels that Mineral Town is too good a place for someone like him.
Dudley scolds Cliff and tells him that being too kind is not a bad thing.
Cliff is still unsure, but he thanks Dudley and asks him to say goodbye to everyone for him.
Dudley does not want to tell Ran because he believes that Ran has feelings for Cliff and will surely miss him after he leaves. Cliff hesitates for a moment, but eventually tells Dudley that he is still going to leave.
As he walks away, Cliff thanks Dudley once again. The Inn owner then tells Cliff that he can always come back whenever he wants.
At this point, Cliff will leave Mineral Town. Even if you do not see this specific cutscene, Cliff will still leave if you do not help him get a job at the winery.
He will leave his job on Winter 29, then leave Mineral Town on Winter 30.
Even after Cliff leaves, his portrait and LP/FP will remain available in the Relationship > Villagers menu.
