Cliff (SoSFoMT)

Carter greets you when you enter the Church. He then asks if you would be willing to hear his request. Carter points to a young man sitting on a church pew and tells you that his name is Cliff.

Carter asks you to go and talk to him. Cliff is a new resident of Mineral Town, but he has difficulty communicating with other people. He does not have the courage to talk to strangers.

You walk over and greet Cliff. He returns your greeting, but when you continue standing there, he asks if there is something on his face. No, you just want to get to know him better.

Cliff tries to talk to you, but he is too nervous and unable to speak to someone face-to-face.

Cliff does not want to give up, but talking to you feels too difficult for him. He thinks that now is not the right time. Cliff then asks you to leave him alone.

Cliff notices that you are a calm person and starts talking to you. He tells you about how you came to town alone to manage the old farm.

He is impressed that you can grow crops and take care of livestock by yourself. He does not think he could ever do something like that.

Cliff says that he would like to talk to you again if you come to visit the Church.

Carter is happy to see you. He and Cliff are about to have dinner, and Cliff asks if you would like to join them.

Carter says that Ran will bring the food he ordered. While waiting, you and Cliff need to clean up.

Carter needs to go to the Confessional for a while, so he leaves the two of you alone in the Church. Cliff says that he can handle it himself and that you do not need to help clean.

Cliff asks you to wait outside. You pace around while waiting for Cliff to finish his confession, until Ran comes running in. She apologizes for bumping into you.

Ran is a little worried, but seeing you around Cliff makes her think that she does not need to worry as much anymore.

Carter is happy to see Ran arrive with the food, just as Cliff finishes his confession. Cliff thanks Ran for the food and also thanks you for waiting outside.

Cliff thanks you for being willing to help. The two of you quickly clean up the Church.

Afterward, Cliff feels that cleaning the Church is not much different from working on a farm, taking care of crops and animals.

Cliff and Duke are working in the vineyard to finish their tasks. Duke tells Cliff to take a break. Manna starts to worry after seeing how much work Cliff is doing.

Duke sees you approaching and calls out to you. He tells Cliff to take you to Mother’s Hill Summit. Today is a good day to enjoy the view.

Cliff would rather work, but Duke says that his work is done for the day. Besides, Duke suggests that Cliff give you a gift for helping him get the job.

When you reach the summit, Cliff apologizes because Duke forced him to bring you to the mountain. He hopes you are not angry, but you are not bothered at all.

Duke has a point. Cliff has not properly thanked you for helping him. He has felt more comfortable since he started living in town.

Little by little, he has also started to enjoy his work. Cliff then asks if you also like your work.

This frustrates them a little. Encouraging someone is good, but you also have to acknowledge their weaknesses.

Meanwhile, Cliff comes in to tell them that he has finished working for the day. Duke thanks Cliff for his hard work, then says that you came to invite him to dinner at the Inn.

After dinner, Cliff comments on how delicious the food is. The food at the Inn is usually good, but for some reason, it tastes much better today. Maybe it is because he is eating with you.

Earlier, Cliff had overheard part of their conversation, but only caught a little of it. He heard his name mentioned and realized that Duke was acting a little strange.

Cliff then wonders if he did something that upset Duke and Manna.

Cliff now becomes concerned about his work. There is still a lot he needs to understand to do his job properly, and he hopes Duke and Manna do not think he is unreliable.

Cliff wonders why they care so much about him when he is not part of their family. Although he feels that it may be too good to be true, it still makes him happy.

To progress to the next Heart Event, you must confess your feelings to Cliff by giving him a Preserved Flower.

This flower becomes available at the General Store after the Basil and Jeff event where they search for the Sunsweet Flower occurs.

Cliff is watching Popuri, Yu, and Mei playing together in the plaza. You walk toward Cliff and surprise him.

He apologizes for looking startled. He was only watching Popuri and the children play together.

Although the children are not related, they are still very close. According to Cliff, it is amazing when you think about it.

You move behind Cliff and start pushing him toward the children. They welcome both of you, even though Cliff tries to pretend that he was just passing by.

They continue inviting both of you to join them. Popuri notices Cliff’s hesitation and asks if there is any reason he does not want to play with them.

Mei and Yu then ask what games he wants to play, so Cliff suggests several games.

Everyone heads into the forest to play. They start with Red Light, Green Light, followed by hide-and-seek, and finally a footrace. Everyone has fun playing together.

After the games are over and they return home, Cliff seems much more cheerful.

At first, he was worried that they would not enjoy playing with someone like him, but it turns out that he really enjoyed himself.

The last stop is Duke and Manna’s House. They thank you for the items. Manna is usually too busy to go into the forest herself.

After leaving, Cliff is happy to see how friendly everyone is. He admits that he is not used to initiating things like this, but lately, he has been changing little by little.

Cliff thanks you for going on this adventure with him today. When he is with you, he finally feels like his life is becoming more colorful.

After completing all the Heart Events and upgrading your house, Gotts will eventually send you a letter informing you that he has started selling the Big Bed, which is one of the requirements for marriage.

Jeff from the General Store will also sell the Blue Feather, an item used to propose to Cliff.

Once all the requirements have been met, it is time to give the Blue Feather to Cliff. After she accepts your proposal, the wedding will take place 7 days later.
