Technically, this is neither a festival nor an event, but rather a special occasion that occurs during Winter.
You will meet Thomas outside your house. He will brag about Mineral Town to another mayor and talk about how great the town is.
Now Thomas has to prove his claims. He will ask you to find an item and give it to him when he returns to your farm that evening.
If you refuse to help Thomas save face, you will lose 10 FP with Thomas. If you agree, he will tell you which item you need to find.
Possible Requested Items
The requested item is randomly selected from the following list:
- AEPFE Apple
- Black Grass
- Bracelet
- Diamond
- Golden Egg
- Green Pepper
- Matsutake Mushroom
- Mochi
- Moonstone
- White Grass
The item for this event is selected randomly. If Thomas asks for an item you cannot obtain, you can reload your save, either a manual save from the previous night or the auto-save from the beginning of the morning.
This will randomize the item Thomas requests again.
Delivering the Item
Thomas will return to your farm at 7:00 PM on the same day and wait outside your house until 8:00 PM. If he leaves empty-handed, you will lose 10 FP with Thomas.
If you manage to find the requested item, give it to him from your backpack. As a reward, Thomas will give you one Gold Lumber.
Gold Lumber can be placed on your farm and will never decay like regular Lumber.
Thomas will scold you if you try to give him a regular apple or a cooked dish instead of a raw ingredient.
Thomas will also explain that placing Gold Lumber on your farm will not make the other villagers jealous.
This is a reference to the original GBA game, where placing Gold Lumber on your farm would cause the villagers to scold you every morning until the ornament was removed from the farm.
Gotts also sells Gold Lumber at the Workshop for 100,000 G per piece.
