Rick, Popuri, and Lillia are standing beside the table. They collected a lot of eggs today, so Rick brought some extra eggs to the hot spring to make Hot Spring Eggs.

Rick notices you standing there and asks if you like eggs too.

Rick takes one of the soft-boiled eggs from the table and gives it to you. They have plenty of eggs, and Rick wants to share them with you.

Rick realizes that everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

When you enter PoPoultry, you meet Popuri and Rick, who are happy that you stopped by to chat. Rick is impressed that you are able to manage your farm on your own.

Lillia is also impressed because not everyone can do that. Popuri tells you that besides growing crops, you also need to know how to take care of livestock.

Rick then asks if you know how many days it takes for a chicken egg to hatch.

Rick assumes that you know the correct answer and is happy that you have confirmed his assumption. Lillia says that she has heard you are a great farmer.

Rick is impressed that you can answer the question right away and wants to be like you.

• Negative Answer: “It takes one whole week!”

Rick is disappointed because the correct answer is three days. According to him, it is not a difficult question.

Rick then wonders if you are not as experienced with chickens as he thought. Even Popuri is disappointed.

Lillia tells them not to worry because everyone can make mistakes.

The girls greet you when you enter PoPoultry. If you are looking for Rick, he is upstairs. Lillia tells you to go up to the second floor.

Rick is upstairs near the table. Are you here to help clean the room?

You notice a watch on the table next to Rick. He explains that his father gave it to him.

When his mother became ill, his father left to search for a flower that could cure Lillia’s illness, but he has not returned yet.

Rick wonders where his father is now and why he has not contacted them.

His mother is very lonely. Rick apologizes. Seeing the watch makes him start thinking about his father.

He thinks his story must sound boring.

Rick apologizes, but he is not ready to talk about it yet. He goes back downstairs and asks you to come with him.

He then asks you not to worry about what happened upstairs because he needs to stay strong for his mother and sister.

Rick is happy that you are not bored listening to his story. He thinks you are a good listener, so he wants to give you the watch.

You initially refuse, but Rick insists that he wants you to keep it.

The two of you then return downstairs. Rick asks you not to say anything to his mother and Popuri. He has to stay strong while his father is away.

When you enter the Inn, you are greeted by Ran and Dudley. Rick notices you and invites you to have a meal with him.

The two of you sit down and have an enjoyable conversation. In fact, Rick feels that talking with you makes him lose track of time.

He tells you that being outside this late at night can be dangerous and asks if he can walk you home.

When you return to the farm, Rick says that he enjoyed spending time with you. Your stories are really interesting. He then says goodbye and heads home, hoping that things go well on your farm.

Rick apologizes for asking. He hopes the two of you will have another chance to continue your conversation someday.

To progress to the next Heart Event, you must confess your feelings to Rick by giving him a Preserved Flower.

This flower becomes available at the General Store after the Basil and Jeff event where they search for the Sunsweet Flower occurs.

Rick seems to be really busy with something. He scolds you for sneaking up on him, although he is still happy that you came to visit. Unfortunately, he is busy taking care of the shop at the moment.

Rick has finished checking the inventory, and now all that is left is taking care of the chickens. He is stuck watching the shop and cannot find Popuri to take care of the task.

You offer to help him take care of the chickens. Rick is hesitant at first, but realizes that there are times when he needs to rely on his partner.

Outside the chicken coop, one of the birds becomes a little rowdy. Rick demands that the chicken behave, but it does not help much.

However, your gentler approach successfully calms the bird down.

Rick is impressed by how you handle the rowdy chicken. After all, you are a farmer and are used to taking care of animals.

Rick becomes a little discouraged because he has not found a good balance between running the shop and properly caring for their poultry.

Your compliment makes Rick blush. He admits that he does not know what he would have done if you had not helped. Taking care of all the chickens by himself would have been a mess. Rick is very grateful for your help.

Popuri and Lillia return to PoPoultry and see the two of you together. Lillia comments on how close the two of you have become.

Rick scolds his mother and sister for disappearing, but Popuri replies that it seems the two of you are doing just fine.

Rick is somewhat disappointed because without your help, he would not have been able to finish taking care of the chickens so quickly.

He thanks you for your help, even though you are busy with your own farm. Rick then goes on to take care of his other tasks.

Rick has finished his work on the farm and stops by to ask if you would like to go somewhere with him. The two of you then go to Mother’s Lake for lunch.

The fresh air feels wonderful! Rick admits that although he enjoys taking care of the animals, he also has the responsibility of running the poultry shop.

It feels good to get out and take a break. Rick thanks you again for helping him take care of the shop a few days ago, as well as for being kind to Popuri and Lillia.

Rick then tells you that he is worried that his father will not return.

Because Lillia’s health is poor and Popuri is still very young, Rick feels that his role is to work hard at the shop to support his mother and sister.

He feels overwhelmed and does not have many options in this situation. He also never gets a chance to relax.

However, you came along, helped him run the shop, and became friends with his family. Rick is happy because he no longer feels alone!

After completing all the Heart Events and upgrading your house, Gotts will eventually send you a letter informing you that he has started selling the Big Bed, which is one of the requirements for marriage.

Jeff from the General Store will also sell the Blue Feather, an item used to propose to Rick.

Once all the requirements have been met, it is time to give the Blue Feather to Rick. After she accepts your proposal, the wedding will take place 7 days later.
