Kai (SoSFoMT)

You find Kai sitting on a park bench. He is taking a break after cleaning the area around his shop.

Kai says that he heard about you from Thomas and asks if you live separately from your family.

You confirm what Kai heard from Thomas. He says that he did not mean to offend you. Kai assumes that living alone on a farm must be nice.

Kai then reveals that he has separated himself from his parents.

He asks for your honest opinion: do you think it is selfish for him to separate himself from his parents?

Kai is somewhat confused because you do not live with your family either. He says that he has his own reasons.

Kai admits that his decision may seem selfish, depending on your perspective.

Kai then invites you to visit his shop when you have time.

Kai is happy to hear that you think everything is okay and that this is something you have also thought about. He reveals that he does not get along very well with his parents.

Kai does not hate them, but their lifestyle conflicts with his own. He wants to talk with you more and feels that the two of you will get along well.

Kai greets you when you enter the shop and asks how your farm is doing. Seeing you work so hard motivates Kai to do his best as well.

There are no customers at the moment, so Kai has some free time to talk. He then asks what kind of crops you grow on your farm.

You walk to the beach and see Kai coming out of his shop. You are about to greet him when you suddenly pass out.

Kai rushes you to the Clinic, where Doctor says that you need to rest. Kai is worried when he sees you pass out in front of him.

Even Doctor is surprised when Kai rushes into the Clinic shouting for help.

Kai apologizes to Doctor for getting angry in the Clinic. He explains that you are an important friend to him.

Eventually, you wake up. Doctor is happy to see that you are feeling better. He assumes that you passed out because the weather has been extremely hot lately.

Elly mentions that it is indeed very hot today and that you have also been working hard on the farm. Doctor reminds you to drink plenty of water and watch your diet.

After Doctor leaves, Kai notices that your complexion looks better. He wants you to rest a little longer.

Kai is happy that you are willing to relax for a while. You always work so hard, so sometimes it is good to take a break and relax.

Kai remembers that he has a talisman he got from another town and gives it to you.

Kai is not at his usual spot on the bench, but you hear him calling from the boat dock. He did not get many customers at his snack bar today, so he is taking a break.

Kai enjoys the sound of the waves, which helps him clear his worries. You seem curious about what he means.

Kai admits that you cannot be fooled because you can tell that something is bothering him.

Kai explains that other people do not like his very casual way of speaking. They think he can be somewhat curt.

At first, Kai thought he did not need to care about what other people thought of him, but now he is beginning to wonder if he should change.

Kai is happy to hear that you support him. He feels that he should not worry about it so much.

To progress to the next Heart Event, you must confess your feelings to Kai by giving him a Preserved Flower.

This flower becomes available at the General Store after the Basil and Jeff event where they search for the Sunsweet Flower occurs.

Kai is outside his shop and asks if you would like to take a break. Maybe go fishing for a while?

He wants to get out of the shop and stretch his legs, so he suggests going to the lake. After all, Kai cannot see you outside of summer.

As the two of you walk through the forest, you spot a chicken wandering alone. You wonder why there is a chicken out here.

You then sneak closer and realize that the chicken belongs to you. The chicken sees you and Kai watching it and runs away.

Kai understands that you need to chase after the runaway chicken, as he would not be much help.

Kai is not good at handling livestock. He returns to his shop while you search for Sneaky Clucky.

After searching for the runaway chicken, you return to the beach. There will be another chance for the two of you to go fishing together.

Kai then invites you inside for a meal. He assumes that you must be hungry after all that work.

• Neutral Answer: “Ooh! Make dessert, too!” or “Ooh! Free refills too, right?”

Kai asks if you are expecting a full meal. You have been working hard, so Kai is willing to make you dessert as well.

Inside the Beach Cafe, you enjoy the meal Kai prepared. Kai thinks about how hard it is to work on a farm. The only challenge for him is dealing with difficult customers.

According to Kai, understanding animals seems much more complicated than dealing with people. He finds it even more impressive that you do everything yourself.

You enter the store and see Jeff and Kai talking. Are you here to look for crop seeds? It is unusual to see Kai at the General Store.

Sasha says that they are also surprised to see Kai visiting because Kai’s Beach Cafe usually never runs out of supplies.

There are no other customers to serve at the moment, so they chat with each other.

Kai quickly changes the subject back to shopping for crop seeds. Your work must keep you busy, and he clearly does not want to talk about it anymore.

Kai then says that he is going back to his snack shop and angrily leaves the General Store.

You chase after him, leaving Jeff wondering what he meant. Sasha feels that she already knows the answer.

You catch up with Kai at the beach. Kai thanks you for worrying about him.

He explains that the reason he was at the store was to see what it would be like if he stayed in this town longer than just the summer.

Kai is curious about the weather and the various events that take place here. He also wants to learn about the local customs.

Kai asks if you would be happy if he stayed in town. He blushes and thanks you. Lately, he has been thinking a lot about what his life would be like if he stayed here.

You work very hard on your farm, so Kai thinks that maybe you could come by and enjoy his food. Perhaps there is a way for him to help you more.

Kai admits that he cannot stand cold weather, which is why he moves from town to town. Staying here would be a big change for him.

When he tells Jeff and Sasha about his plans, their eyes practically pop out of their heads in surprise. Then, when you enter the store, Kai panics and runs away.

Kai will come back and explain everything to them later, but for now, he wants to spend some time with you while looking out at the sea.

Yes, Kai says that he has always wanted to live in a charming town with nice people. However, he has not made a decision yet.

So, when you saw him discussing it with Jeff and Sasha, he felt awkward and ran away.

Kai suspects that it will be difficult for him to stay in Mineral Town during the other seasons. He then asks you to forget that it happened.

After completing all the Heart Events and upgrading your house, Gotts will eventually send you a letter informing you that he has started selling the Big Bed, which is one of the requirements for marriage.

Jeff from the General Store will also sell the Blue Feather, an item used to propose to Kai.

Once all the requirements have been met, it is time to give the Blue Feather to Kai. After she accepts your proposal, the wedding will take place 7 days later.
