As you enter the laboratory, you hear Daryl laughing hysterically. He swears that this time his experiment is definitely going to succeed.
When you try to see what he is working on, Daryl turns around and asks what you are doing there.

You turn to leave, but Daryl stops you. He says you cannot leave just yet and insists that you see his latest invention first.

Daryl confirms that he is working on another new experiment.
He explains that this research focuses on water sources. According to him, most of the drinking water in the valley comes from underground wells, but those wells could eventually run dry.
Although rainwater replenishes the wells, most of it eventually flows into the sea.
Because of this, Daryl proposes building a massive rainwater collection system so the water can be used by both the people of the valley and the neighboring town.
Since rainwater contains various impurities, Daryl has also developed a filtration system to ensure that the collected water is safe to drink.
After explaining everything, he turns around and shows you the device that controls the filtration system. You begin to get a bad feeling about this.

You immediately dash out of the laboratory just as Daryl activates his filtration system.
At first, the rainwater collection system appears to be working perfectly. However, it is not long before a loud crashing noise is followed by Daryl grumbling.
He realizes that the entire system will have to be redesigned before it can function properly.
