The Church is located in the northeastern corner of Mineral Town. Carter opens the church every day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and always tries to help the townspeople in any way he can, even if it is simply by listening to their concerns.
The church does not offer any items or services for sale. However, Carter provides access to the Confessional, where players can confess certain actions and seek forgiveness.
The Confessional booth is located in one corner of the church and can only be accessed while Carter is present inside.
Confessions are available from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and on rainy days.
On sunny days, Carter is usually outside the church spending time with Mei and Yu. When it rains, he remains inside the Confessional, praying and reflecting.
When entering the Confessional, players are presented with three different confession options to choose from.
Removing Cursed Tools
Cursed Tools can be found on specific floors of the Lake Mine. Once equipped as the active tool, the curse takes effect and prevents the player from switching to other tools in their backpack.
The only way to remove a Cursed Tool is to seek help from Carter while he is inside the Confessional. He can either remove the tool from the active slot or help lift its curse permanently.
Carter charges 1,000 G to remove a currently equipped Cursed Tool.
Removing a Curse Permanently
A Cursed Tool can be permanently purified and transformed into a Blessed Tool. The required method varies depending on the tool:
- Cursed Hoe and Cursed Watering Can — Ask Carter to bless the tool five times.
- Cursed Sickle and Cursed Hammer — Keep the tool equipped as the active tool for five consecutive days.
- Cursed Axe and Cursed Fishing Pole — Use the tool 50 times.
Once the required condition has been fulfilled, the curse will be removed and the tool will become a Blessed Tool.
If the player speaks to Carter about curses without possessing a Cursed Tool, he will simply explain the dangers associated with using cursed equipment.
Players may use Carter’s blessing services multiple times in a single day. However, each blessing or curse-removal service costs 1,000 G.
Confessions
When using the Confessional, Carter will offer three different sets of confession options. Players may make only one confession per day.
Set 1
- I don’t care for my animals
- I worked myself to collapse
- The townsfolk don’t like me
Set 2
- I picked on an animal
- I overslept
- I littered on the road
Set 3
- I hardly sleep
- I overwork the Nature Sprites
- I want to marry the Harvest Goddess
- I want to marry Kappa
Regardless of the option selected, Carter will respond to the confession. In some cases, he may forgive the player and grant a small bonus related to the confessed action.
For example, if the player is forgiven after selecting “I worked myself to collapse,” the character will recover 10 Stamina.
Several other confessions can also provide additional benefits:
- I littered on the road and The townsfolk don’t like me may grant a small increase in Friendship Points with the villagers.
- I don’t care for my animals can increase friendship levels with all livestock if Carter grants forgiveness.
The final two options in Set 3 — “I want to marry the Harvest Goddess” and “I want to marry Kappa”, are part of the requirements for marrying these special marriage candidates.
Because only one confession can be made per day, players pursuing a special marriage candidate should remember to use the Confessional regularly when working toward those requirements.
