In Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (SoS AWL), Takakura serves as your guide and helps you manage the farm.
He is a close friend of your father who managed the farm with him before you took over.
As your farm and family grow, Takakura remains by your side to help. He handles all sales and farm construction.
If you place something in the shipping bin, Takakura will leave early in the morning and return with the profits in the afternoon. He will also take any livestock you want to sell to the city.
He lives alone in a small house on your property. Takakura can be one of the more difficult villagers to find because he is always working hard and frequently moves around.
He has a very strict work routine, waking up early to work and returning around midday.
Although somewhat solitary, he is an important part of your family. He is invited to join festivals and becomes part of your child’s life at every stage of their development.
He will give you a horse for free sometime during Summer of Year 1. Before showing you the horse, he will give you three color choices: Brown, Black, and White.
On Spring 1 of Year 2, he will call you to his house and introduce you to Vinnie, a talking plant. This unlocks crop hybridization for the rest of the game.
Takakura serves as a kind of narrator in the game by “speaking” to your father.
He tells your father about events in the town at the beginning of each Chapter and recounts various events that take place over the years, including how you start a family, manage the farm, and so on.
When the main character dies, Takakura expresses his grief. Takakura then begins speaking to you and your father, describing the state of the farm after their deaths and revealing what your child has decided to pursue.
Befriending Takakura can influence your child to become a Rancher.
Starting in Chapter 2, after befriending all the residents of Forgotten Valley to 90% on the affection meter, except Vinnie, Takakura will give you the record “Wonderful!!” after you talk to him.
